Jeanette M. Durham, Esq.

In 2011, Jeanette earned the prestigious Bernstein Law Clerk Fellowship at Biddeford District Court, assisting judges and magistrates with research and decision writing while observing trial practice from the bench. At Maine Law, she distinguished herself by becoming a certified CADRES mediator, being the only student in her trial practice class to win an acquittal for her mock defendant-client and later competing on the school’s mock trial competition team. She graduated in 2013 with the Pro Bono Publico Award for her dedication to public service.

Since founding Maine Family Law, Jeanette has built a reputation as both a fierce advocate and a trusted counselor. She represents clients in all aspects of family litigation—from negotiation and trial through appeals before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. Jeanette is known for her pragmatic, client-centered approach: she delivers honest advice, defends her clients with tenacity, and provides the kind of candid perspective that helps families see their case from every angle.

Jeanette has experience serving as a mediator and guardian ad litem, having worked as a Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Service mediator in law school, and by being a court-rostered guardian ad litem from 2017-2020. She has been honored by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court’s Katahdin Counsel program for her extensive pro bono work and has served on the board of the Maine State Bar Association’s Family Law Section.
